While you're a student, you'll have opportunities to evaluate the quality of your programme of study and its individual modules via the University's TellUS survey system. Student evaluation is an essential part of assuring the quality of Schools' provision and provides us with essential feedback on your experiences.
The University will inform you of the purpose and process of student evaluation, including how and when it will take place and what will be done with the results. They'll ask for comments on individual modules towards the end of each semester via an online questionnaire, and on the overall programme at the end of your studies. The TellUS questionnaires will be sent to your directly at the relevant times.
We'll try to provide you with feedback on the issues that students have raised through the evaluation process and how we're addressing these.
It's important that we receive a good response rate to student evaluations, as your feedback is an essential part of helping us to maintain the quality of teaching and learning provision, and may benefit you and future students.
Changes are regularly made as a direct result of student feedback. In the past:
module credit has been increased
the order that modules are taught in has been changed
additional reading material has been supplied
changes have been made to assessments
feedback processes have been updated
Each set of programmes (Research Methods and Neuroscience) will hopefully have 1-3 Student Representatives - though this is up to volunteers from your cohort coming forward! These reps sit on the Staff Student Committee and can relay your feedback directly to the Programme Director for your programme. For more information, please visit the page on Student Representation.
After the conference in June 2025, you'll be asked to fill in a feedback questionnaire. In 2024, we only had one respondent out of 50, which has meant we don't have much information on which to base any changes to the format of the day - let's see if we can improve on that this year! You can find more details on the Postgraduate Conference page.
