IT Services and Computing

Once your student IT (MUSE) account is activated, you can access a host of computing essentials, including the IT Services site - a service dedicated to supporting students across the University of Sheffield.

 It's an excellent service that you should make use of during your time at Sheffield - and here to help you with any IT problems you encounter during your studies.

Student IT account and essentials 

This section provides assistance on using your IT account and if you need help with items such as passwords and using Multi Factor Authentication (MFA)

University computers and facilities

Learn about University computers (checking availability and how to find one on campus), laptop loans and IT spaces. There's also the Remote Desktop Service that allows you to log in to a University computer from your own personal device when away from campus, and use that University computer remotely.

Print, copy and scanning services

Use University computers and personal devices to print, photocopy and scan.

Software for students 

There is huge range of software and tools for you to use on University computers across campus, but as a student here at Sheffield, you can also get a range of software free to use on your own personal or laptop, such as Microsoft office and Adobe Creative Cloud.

Creative Media Service

The Creative Media Service provides equipment, facilities and training to support you with your video, audio, photo and other digital media projects.

Information security

Guidance and support on safe computing such as antivirus software, password security and phishing scams.
