Travel abroad programs send students to different countries around the world. Each travel abroad program has a different emphasis or focus. For example:
Language and Culture Programs: Students may live in home-stays with native families and focus on activities that broaden the students’ understanding of a new culture. Some programs include staying in dormitories or local lodging. The goal of these programs is to learn a new language.
Service-Oriented Programs: Students spend much of their time performing some kind of community or volunteer service such as running workshops on disease prevention or helping to build homes or schools.
Location-specific topics: Some study abroad programs are topic specific based on the location. For example, you might learn about environmentalism in Costa Rica, or Art History in Rome.
