SUMMER 2022 ALUMNI: LIZBETH LAZARO
How would you describe your EP to someone who has never heard of it before?
The EP I did was a pre-college program. You are living on campus and are taking two courses throughout the 2 weeks there.
What is a typical day like during your EP?
There wasn’t a dining hall so you would usually wake up and make yourself breakfast in your dorm kitchen or go out to eat at the food trucks or nearby trucks. Your first course starts at 10 and goes on until 12:30 and then we have lunch. After the second course starts at 1:30 to 3:30. Once class is over you are able to go hang out with friends, get something to eat, or go back to your dorm and work on homework.
What was the biggest challenge of your EP?
For me personally, the biggest challenge was being away from home and having to really have the whole college experience because we didn’t have a dining hall so it meant having to make food.
What was the biggest reward of your EP?
The biggest reward of my EP was being able to meet new people and be more social.
What do you wish you had known before you went on your EP?
Something that I wish I had known before I went for my EP is to go to all the social events organized and also be able to cook different kinds of foods.
What advice do you have for future SEO scholars who are considering your EP?
Some advice I would give someone who is considering my EP is to go to the social events organized. It’s a great way to meet new people and connect with them. Also, if you’ve never been away from home like me this is a great opportunity. It’s a short 2 weeks and it allows you to think about going away or staying home for college.
