Services

Goal

It is the goal of the Southwest Development Center to provide a variety of valuable educational services to the districts in the region. Services provided will vary according to funding sources from state & federal grants, district assessments, the Utah Educational Network and from the Utah State Board of Education.

Office Manager/Secretary

SEDC has a full time Office Manager that is responsible for the reception services of SEDC and the daily financial operation and activities of the center. These responsibilities include; tracking of revenue, accounts payable and receivable, requisitions for purchase orders, preparing payroll, preparing invoices for assessments, and monitoring employee contracts. This position is also primarily responsible for the Southwest Sterling Scholar program.

Technology Integration & Data Specialist

SEDC has a full time technology trainer that provides a wide variety of technical training and support to teachers in all districts and charters within the SEDC area. The trainer also coordinates various grants and works in coordination with other agencies in the State to enhance the use of technology in education. This position includes support for teachers and leaders in the collection, analysis, and use of data. Support in data from state assessments is the primary focus.

System Engineer

SEDC has a full time System Engineer who provides network support to all district and charter technology directors as well as offering support in data backups, wired and wireless network evaluation, security camera implementation, data synchronization, IP phones, content filtering, firewalls, DNS, network monitoring, Aspire technical support, virtualization, Active Directory, and security

System Specialist

SEDC has a full time System Specialist who provides programming and network support to all districts and charters in the region as well as coordinating collective technology purchases and technical support in grant management.

Austism Specialist

SEDC has a full time Autism Specialist who provides specialized training to educators, tests students, and works with parents and autistic students in Washington, Iron, Beaver, Garfield and Kane School Districts.

Media/Technology Mentor & Autism Assistant

SEDC has a full time Media/Technology Mentor that provides service to include training in the area of video streaming, eMedia resources, some instructional technology integration tools, and printing of posters. This position also acts as the Autism Secretary and helps in coordinating the annual Southern Utah Autism Conference.
