The site is basically a bathing and open washing area where people came wash their clothes, bath have some conversions with their knowned ones, etc. There are two kunds for bathing spaces which gets covered by water in monsoon sometimes. This is crowdy at morning times and gets relaxed by time of the day.
Intent
Pushkar, one the most holy places in India s one of them. Place known for its religious, cultural aspects. So this place also connects people by various means like worshipping, bathing, washing clothes, gatherings, etc. So from one of these my site is used for bathing and washing purpose, so the main objective is to create a smooth flow for the people but not to overpower the space by creating something sort of bulky which cannot gets merged in the landscape eventually. So I decided to use these ghat steps itself to incorporate things on it not by taking any separate space. The desired space can envisioned not just as a cafe but can also be the gathering, meeting, changing as well a viewing spaces. The idea is not to restrict the crowd for just single purpose rather by using it for multi- purpose. Going through the process, the idea of the deck evolved which can give a direction to the space and enhanced the visual aspect of crowd. The design maintains simple flow for people and resonates with the local identity, which guarantees a natural environment for the community.
