Site Analysis
The chosen site for the project is the Kumbh Mela site in Prayagraj, selected for its proximity to the river edge, a place of significance for pilgrims and sadhus who engage in the traditional practice of taking holy baths. The primary intent behind this choice is to cater to the needs of individuals partaking in the religious rituals, particularly focusing on providing a comfortable and practical space for them to change or take a bath after their dip in the sacred river
Process for the design
Intervention drawings
First floor the design incorporates a cafe within the structure. Here, the grid concept is integrated, demonstrating a cohesive design throughout the entire building. The smallest components of the grid are employed, multiplied and divided strategically to create a habitable space with functional furniture. This design logic maintains consistency and visual harmony within the structure.
Materiality
In terms of construction, the entire structure is crafted using steel sections, metal sheets, and sandbags. This selection of materials ensures durability and resilience, crucial factors for a structure located in a site that experiences significant footfall and various environmental conditions The foundation is made up of metal sheets ,steel sections and sand bags. roof is constructed with wooden members and steel sections.

To enhance the overall experience, parts of the grid are projected outside the building, creating a deck-like space. This outdoor area offers visitors the opportunity to sit and enjoy the picturesque riverside view. The integration of this deck aligns with the multifunctional approach of the design, providing not only practical facilities but also a tranquil space for reflection and relaxation.
