Site analysis
The Kumbh Mela is a pilgrimage and a festival that happens once in 4 years at Prayagraj. It consists of government Akharas that provide services like canteens and washrooms within the boundary. It also has a parking for fire trucks right next to the boundary. Since it is connected to the main pilgrim route, the edge of the road becomes a parking space for vehicles that stop for breaks as well as the vehicles belonging to the people living in the Akhara.

Intent
The intent was to build a temporary structure that integrates itself into the setting of the Kumbh Mela. The intervention makes maximum use of materials like canvas and bamboo since they are already present on the site. It provides parking services for the pilgrims coming to the Akharas as well as washrooms and bathrooms for the firemen.
