Many scholars feel the most important experience for growth in this area is their direct service with youth at practicum. School psychology and school counselor trainees create their own interventions and lesson plans based on an Indigenous resilience model and mediated learning. Students are able to share their stories, experiences, and responses to curriculum. Learning through intervention implementation with evidence-based Indigenous models is necessary to develop this competency. Scholars report a lot of growth through supporting and learning from their Native students.
