Creating effective, culturally responsive interventions for Native students requires much prior knowledge and continuous practice. These resources have helped scholars further their understanding of how historical trauma and colonization influence behavior and how tribal-specific behaviors can differ from mainstream cultural behaviors. Using culture, Native mediated learning, and Indigenous-based models in intervention design contributes to positive resilience and identity building for youth. This section provides resources for historical contexts, interventions, and Indigenous-specific models for educators and counselors.
