7/12 Welcome to Week 2: Neurodiversity

Hello Online Brain Fitness Students,

Welcome to Week 2 of our Summer Online Brain Fitness Class! We hope you are all settled in to the new semester and working on your BrainHQ exercises. This week our lesson is on Neurodiversity. All links to your lesson and related information can be found below.

Last Week

Last week we had a short orientation to our 2 websites and our summer orientation. Our first lesson was an overview of the brain fitness class and what we can do to keep our brains strong and healthy. If you need help with anything related to the exercises, websites, or the class, please ask. Our contact information is at the bottom of this (and every) weekly email.

This Week

We will learn about Neurodiversity, and the workings of differently-wired brains. We’ll look at where in the brain these neurological differences occur; how genetic and biological differences might influence behaviors, thoughts, and abilities; and why it is important to understand the gifts and the challenges of neurodiversity. A look into these uniquely-wired brains will give us a better understanding of how and why brains work the way they do. Neurodiversity is a new concept that looks for the attributes of all brains, no matter how differently-wired they might be. You can go directly to the Lesson Homepage to follow the links to your lesson, or download the Printable Handout here. When you're done reviewing the lesson, you can Take the Quiz.
