Abstract
Those educational institutions who still choose to offer their educational services to its community had formulated their own techniques and strategies on how they can still cater all the needs of their students particularly in the teaching aspect. This study attempted to determine the satisfaction rate on the virtual sessions done in the department of BS Radiologic Technology in St. Dominic College of Asia during the first semester of academic year 2020-2021. The total population of the study involved sixty-two (62) BS Radiologic Technology students enrolled in the first semester of academic year 2020-2021 particularly eight (8) first year students, twenty-one (21) second year students, fifteen (15) third year students, and eighteen (18) fourth year students. All sixty-two (62) students participated in this study. Findings show that the respondents generally ‘agreed’ that the synchronous classes and environmental factors were both a big contributing elements on the effectiveness of online classes done to them with a weighted mean of 3.02 and 3.08 respectively. Moreover, they ‘disagreed’ that asynchronous classes with a weighted mean of 1.77 had a big impact on the effectiveness of online classes. Also, the respondents’ level of satisfaction on their experienced during the online classes of the first semester academic year 2020-2021 was ‘high’ with a weighted mean of 3.15. Since synchronous classes had a big impact on the effectiveness of online classes, students prefer that instead of giving once a week meeting per course, instructors should make it twice a week meetings but with shorter discussion times per sessions. Environmental factors such as internet connections were also a contributing element, however, asynchronous classes were proven as not a good technique.
