Abstract
This needs assessment evaluates the English proficiency of the BSED English students at St. Dominic College of Asia. The English proficiency means the basic communication skills in the four macro skills: Listening, Speaking, Reading, and Writing. At the end of the assessment, the researcher identifies which of the macro skills BSED English students need to be more proficient to. The results will be the basis in developing a resource material to directly address the needs of the students in the school. This study used the Descriptive Method. Data were treated using the percentage distribution as the main tool in the computation of the proportion of the skills needed to be enhanced by the students. However, the answer of the students in the Speaking part of the Questionnaire was interpreted using a Rubric, which was designed by the researcher.
