Abstract
This descriptive, comparative study attempted to determine if the benefits of physical education have an effect on the higher education students. Physical education can help the students to become more aware in improving their daily lifestyle. This study consisted of 269 college students who are enrolled in Physical Education courses at St. Dominic College of Asia. The result showed that students benefited to a full extent on the courses physically, psychosocially, and mentally. It is found that the age, gender, and program do not determine the extent of benefits to the participants; while the number of PE courses taken affected them only in physical and mental aspects. Physical benefits are interrelated with both psychosocial and mental benefits as experienced by the respondents. Recommendations for further research could include: creating a longitudinal study about the benefits of physical education whether there is an improvement every year; Higher Education Institution continuing with the curriculum of PE courses offered; and balancing the number of respondents in the study.
