Abstract
Microscope is an optical instrument used for viewing very small objects that are too small for the naked eye. However, this long-term usage has been a major problem for biologists which can cause eye strain and fatigue. The study aimed to design and develop a cell phone adapter that will connect any type of smartphones directly to the microscope. The study used descriptive research design. Efficiency test of the Universal Microscope Cell Phone Adapter was tested to thirty (30) biologists in Cavite State University – Indang Campus. The findings showed that the developed microscope cell phone adapter is good enough in facilitating photography and videography on microscopic specimen in different types of microscopes. In addition, further observations show that the cell phone must be placed properly, and that minimal adjustments must be made to achieve the wide view of the target specimen. The researcher recommends that alternative raw materials can be used for the construction of the adapter, addition of clamps, buttons, and knobs for the mechanical features of the adapter, and its size for the accommodation of larger devices like tablets.
