Abstract
Language is the soul and culture of one country which can influence our self-concept and identity. The variations of languages are mostly seen in bilingual communities. Therefore, some phenomenon of language occurs in these societies to make the communication more effective and meaningful, especially in business opportunities and ventures. This study aimed to determine the importance and effectiveness of the use of code-switching as perceived by Business Administration students. A descriptive research was utilized, with a survey questionnaire as the main gathering instrument. The results of the study revealed that most of the students wanted to improve their communication skills during discussion, recitation, and most especially in writing skills. It was also found that students who could not speak in English fluently but use Filipino language allowed them to explain what they knew about the topic in a Business subject which made them more effective in showing their communication skills. The researcher recommends that teachers must give more emphasis on the materials and instruments that can be useful inside the classroom in addition to teaching students how to communicate effectively.
