Abstract
The objective of this study is to find out the perceptions of team effectiveness inside a back office operations center and how these perceptions can differ between gender and educational attainment. To address this goal, this paper was organized as follows: First, a literature review was performed on different team effectiveness models, other team literatures, and on all types of team measurements to assist in developing a new assessment for team effectiveness. Factors were then identified and validated through a table of comparison between different team effectiveness models and other relevant literature. The data gathered was then used to create a questionnaire. Once a questionnaire was developed, a validation process took place at Task Us Inc. where team leaders and team members answered the questionnaire to gather data. Once the data was collected, statistical analysis was performed to determine the level of Team Effectiveness in Back Office Operations among its Team Members. The study concluded that the team effectiveness factors identified (Team Purpose and Goals, Team Roles, Team Relationship, Team Problem Solving, Team Passion and Commitment, and Team Skills and Learning) must be measured and evaluated to ensure that team members work together effectively to achieve goals.
