SEG Scholarship
Society of Exploration Geophysicists Scholarships are based on merit. To qualify, you must plan to attend college next year, have above average grades, and intend to pursue a college curriculum directed toward a career in applied geophysics.

Lionel High School Chemistry Scholarship
The Lionel High School Scholarship has been established to assist high school students who show an interest in science in their transition to study chemistry, biochemistry or chemical engineering at a postsecondary institution but who would not otherwise be able to attend without significant financial assistance. Selection is based on achievement in school, interest in chemical related studies, as well as financial need. Several scholarships may be offered each year. Scholarship amount can be $4,000 for up to each of 4 years in a program.

Jake Weitz Memorial Scholarship
The Jake Weitz Memorial Scholarship is seeking applications from high school students. This scholarship was created to honor the memory of Jake Weitz and to provide scholarships and bursaries to High School students for post-secondary education, who also share a love for Mechanics (Automotive Services, Heavy Duty, Aviation, etc).

BC School Superintendents Association (BCSSA)
Students must demonstrate exemplary service and leadership within the school and community. One winner will be chosen from each of the six BCSSA provincial chapters, including Vancouver Island. Each winner will be awarded a $1,000 scholarship.

BC Principals' and Vice-Principals' Association (BCPVPA) Scholarship
The BCPVPA awards up to 20 scholarships, in the amount of $1000 each, to students graduating from the BC public school system and who will proceed to a post-secondary institution. Applicants will be assessed on academic excellence and demonstrated leadership in the school and community.
Up to 10 scholarships are reserved for the children of BCPVPA members.
Up to 10 scholarships are awarded to other graduating students.
Up to 2 scholarships will be awarded to Indigenous students.

Women's Cyber Security Scholarships
Up to $5000 will be awarded to a student pursuing, or plan to pursue, a degree with a focus on cybersecurity, information assurance or similar field. See the attached application for further criteria.

Sooke Teachers' Association Scholarships
Seven scholarships of $1000 each are available to students of the Sooke School District who are planning to attend full-time post-secondary school.
In addition to an application form, students must also submit a resume and their transcript.
**Please, note that three of the awards are reserved for students whose parents are members of the Sooke Teachers' Association, and one scholarship is reserved for an Indigenous student, and one is reserved for an alternative education student. RE/MAX Quest for Excellence
The Quest for Excellence Program recognizes the pursuits in leadership and community contributions of Western Canadian students. High school students graduating from British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Yukon and Northwest Territories are encouraged to write an essay to convey the contributions they have made to enrich the lives of others and their communities through leadership, motivation, volunteering and participation in charitable events or fundraising.

Dr. Donald Rix Inspiring Business Excellence Scholarship ($2500)

Junior Achievement BC Award for Oratory and Presentation Skills
This award recognizes achievement in the development of speaking and presentation skills. This year, four students will be awarded $2,500 each to further their post-secondary education. Award winners will present their speeches at the annual Business Laureates of British Columbia Hall of Fame Gala. To be eligible, students must have participated in JA Company Program, JA Titan (prior to 2020) or JA Be Entrepreneurial in the last five years.

TELUS Student Bursary
Recipients receive a bursary valued at $3,000 (college) or $5,000 (university) to put toward tuition fees at post-secondary institutions in Canada. Eligibility: youth between the ages of 17 and 29 in critical financial need; accepted into, or attending, a first undergraduate degree or diploma program at a college, university or polytechnic institute in Canada; Canadian citizen or permanent resident; commitment to delivering a social impact initiative during the course of their studies that will have a positive social or environmental impact in their community. The application portal is open to the first 400 applicants or until the deadline, and we encourage students to apply early.

Daneen Skilling Scholarship for Studies in Occupational Health and Safety
This $2500 annual scholarship is offered by the Manufacturing Safety Alliance of BC to a student pursuing a career in Occupational Health and Safety. (A secondary practicum opportunity is included in this scholarship following successful completion of studies with a minimum GPA of 3.5.) Applications will be accepted from students enrolling in an accredited Occupational Health and Safety program at college or university in BC (BCIT, UBC, SFU, UVIC, UNBC, or Okanagan College).

The Co-operative Housing Federation of BC Scholarship
The purpose of this scholarship is to support the educational goals of young co-op members who are making a contribution to their communities. The maximum award is $5,000. Scholarship winners will receive $2,000 in their first year of study and $1,000 each year thereafter for up to four years of study.
Applicants must:
Live in a CHF BC member housing co-op; Plan to attend a Canadian, publicly-funded, accredited college, university or government-approved apprenticeship program on a full-time basis; Be making a positive contribution to their school, co-op, OR community; Demonstrate financial need

Construction Foundation of BC Grants and Funding
The Construction Foundation provides grants to support a number of projects across the entire province. If you are interested in applying for a grant, please review the granting protocols for each opportunity listed below.
The John Cunningham Bursary is awarded to students entering or furthering their education in the field of road building and heavy construction. Recipients will receive up to $1000 to be applied to tuition fees and textbooks.

"In Celebration of René B. Delisle." The Timber Wolf Legacy Fund is awarded to a student who identifies as First Nations, Inuit, or Metis, and who plans to enter into a construction foundations program or electrical apprenticeship.

Zarko Perko Memorial Scholarship

Leonard Foundation Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to students who are enrolled or pan to enroll in an accredited undergraduate degree program and demonstrate true financial need. All applicants will be considered, but when necessary, preference may be given to children of ordained clergy, licensed elementary or secondary school teachers, and Canadian military personnel.

BC Retired Principals’ and Vice-Principals’ Association (BCRPVPA) Awards
Up to twelve $1000 bursaries/scholarships are awarded to students who are continuing their education at an accredited post-secondary institution in Canada. (Those planning a “gap year” should apply in the first year in which they register in a post-secondary program.) Students who are pursuing education in trades, technical, and career fields, as well as those entering universities and colleges, are encouraged to apply. Applicants will be judged on their academic achievements and demonstrated leadership and service activities both within the school and community. Financial need will also be considered.

Kochhar & Co. Chartered Professional Accountants Scholarship
This award is given to a student who is attending college or university in the fall full or part-time, and has a GPA of 2.5 or greater and submits an answer to the essay question no later than 11:59 PM EST on the day of the deadline.

Victoria Diocesan Catholic Women's League Bursary
This bursary is awarded annually to a child or a grandchild of members of the Catholic Church in the Diocese of Victoria. Student must complete the Catholic Women’s League Bursary Application Form, attach a transcript of current academic standing, and attach a narrative essay outlining their successes, achievements, parish and community involvement and future goals.

BC Hydro Pioneers Community Service Award
This award is for students who have made outstanding volunteer contributions in their community. There are up to twenty $500 awards available in British Columbia.

Horatio Alger Scholarship
The Horatio Alger Scholarship Programs provide financial assistance to students across Canada who have significant financial need and have exhibited integrity and perseverance in overcoming personal adversity. The scholarships, awarded to deserving students each year, range in value from $10,000 to $25,000. This Scholarship Program focuses on grade 11 students.

Rocky Point Bird Observatory Award
Three scholarships of $1000.00 will be presented to graduating, full-time high school students of School Districts 61, 62 and 63 who intend to pursue a career that supports bird and/or environmental conservation. Coastal Community Credit Union's Scholarship Program

Coastal Community would like to help you make that happen with our Scholarship Program. They will award eight Grade 12 students with a $2000 scholarship for post-secondary.

Western Inspirational Bursary Award
This $750.00 bursary offered by Western Financial Group. This bursary award is not a scholarship for high academic achievement. It is a character award that aims to recognize the students in our communities who have overcome various adversities, including mental health, physical disability, discrimination, financial hardship, or family issues.
Despite these challenges, these students have demonstrated kindness, determination, and courage to graduate high school and continue their education through post-secondary institutions, trade schools, online courses, or the military.
Applications to be Ecole Royal Bay's nominee are required to submit the following documents:
a paragraph outlining your plans and goals for the future and the continuation of your education
an essay describing how you have demonstrated the characteristics outlined in the award criteria listed above. Please provide enough information to clearly explain why you should be RBSS' nominee.
