Awards of $1,000 - $5,000 are available for Aboriginal people pursuing post-secondary education at B.C. public post-secondary institutions or Aboriginal-run institutions.

Beedie Luminaries Scholarship
The purpose of this scholarship is to assist resilient BC students who face financial adversity and who have the academic readiness to advance their education, achieve their dreams, and inspire others. Students must also have a minimum grade average of 75% in their most recently completed school year.
116 scholarships were offered in 2023 averaging $22,000-44,000 per student (depending on the program applied to)

BC Excellence Scholarships
Applications are now open for the 55 BC Excellence Scholarships, offered by the provincial government to annually to recognize well-rounded B.C. graduates. Successful students will have demonstrated community service, both inside and outside of school, and shown aptitude and commitment to their chosen career paths. They will receive a $5000 scholarship voucher to use for post-secondary tuition. To be considered as Royal Bay’s student nominee, you must first complete the application package which includes:
A resume (emphasizing your school & community service, volunteer experience, academic successes, etc.)
Two reference letters (one from a community member/organization and one from your school or a teacher)
A written statement, maximum 500 words, in which you describe:
What led you to your most relevant community service, volunteer activity, and/or leadership role;
What you learned from this experience;
How this experience will benefit you in your chosen career path.
To be considered for nomination, your completed form must be submitted to the École Royal Bay Career Commons on or before the deadline Monday, February 5th, 2024

Pathway to Teacher Education Scholarship - BC Ministry of Education
Applications are now open for the Pathway to Teacher Education Scholarships which are awarded to 20 outstanding high school graduates who have demonstrated a commitment and aptitude for a career path in K-12 teaching. Winners receive a $5000 scholarship voucher to redeem when they are registered and attending an approved K-12 teacher education program at one of BC's nine Faculties of Education.

BCGEU Scholarships
These $2000 scholarships are open to Grade 12 students who are related to a current, retired, or deceased BCGEU member (parents, grandparents, common law, foster parents) and are planning to attend a post-secondary institution in September.
"This year, applicants are asked to submit an essay, video, song or infographic in response to one of three questions:
The Supreme Court of Canada has recognized the right to strike as an "indispensable component" of collective bargaining. Why is this important?
The current state of the world poses many challenges. How do you remain hopeful? How can a democratic labour movement bring forth change?
Why is accessible, well-funded childcare important?"

Schulich Leader Scholarships (***Students must start this application early to ensure it is thoroughly completed by the January 12th, 2024 date.)
Students are selected by their individual schools and must possess at least two of the three criteria listed:
1. Outstanding community, business, or entrepreneurial leadership
2. Academic excellence
3. Financial need
If you want to be considered as Royal Bay's nominee, you must complete and deliver the following Schulich-based information package to the Career Commons room 1168 by Friday, January 12th, 2024 in order to give the RBSS Scholarship Team time to meet and select a student before the January 30th, 2024 nomination deadline.
Identify the 2 or 3 universities you wish to attend
A list of your top three achievements (academic or other)
A 600 word essay demonstrating why you should win
An optional 250 word essay that outlines any extenuating circumstances (optional)
A short answer statement to identify where you see yourself in 10 years
Two single-page letters of reference that include email and telephone contact information for verification
A copy of your latest transcript

Health Sciences Scholarship/Bursary Applications
Over thirty $750-$1500 scholarships are available to children of HSA members.

DB Perks & Lifesaving Society Scholarships
Applicants for this scholarship must be holders of current Lifesaving Society awards and actively employed by a BC Branch Affiliate as a lifeguard or Lifesaving Society Instructor, part-time or full time. Three scholarships of $1000 will be awarded yearly.

David C. Lam TEAL (BC Teachers of English as an Additional Language) Scholarship
This $3,000 scholarship recognizes an English language learner graduating from a BC secondary school who has combined academic competence with school and community service, and who wishes to further their education at a post-secondary institution in BC. Applicants must be documented permanent residents of Canada. International students on student visas are not eligible for this award.

Canadian Women in STEM Scholarship: Robotics
Valued at $10,000, this scholarship was established to encourage and support high school girls who wish to pursue post secondary education and a career in a STEM field. To be eligible, students will have participated in a First Robotics Competition or First Tech Challenge team in Canada.

PISE Training Scholarship
Two $1000 awards will be presented to high school athletes who have excelled in their sport, demonstrated positive leadership and sportsmanship, maintained a positive academic performance, and are interested in taking their sport performance to the next level. The award will be provided in the form of a credit
towards strength and conditioning services with PISE’s Performance Training Coaches.

RE/MAX Quest for Excellence
The Quest for Excellence Program recognizes the pursuits in leadership and community contributions of Western Canadian students. High school students graduating from British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Yukon and Northwest Territories are encouraged to write an essay to convey the contributions they have made to enrich the lives of others and their communities through leadership, motivation, volunteering and participation in charitable events or fundraising.

Coastal Community Credit Union's Scholarship Program
Do you have a great idea to make a positive difference in your community? Do you want to see that idea become a reality? Coastal Community would like to help you make that happen with our Scholarship Program. "In order to be eligible for a scholarship, we ask that you submit a plan for a project to improve your community."
They will award eight Grade 12 students with a $2000 scholarship for post-secondary.
