The Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs is an organization that makes more people aware of workplace discrimination and they say that “employment discrimination generally exists where an employer treats an applicant or employee less favorably merely because of a person's race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability or status as a protected veteran”

This is very unfair because someone could be waiting for a while to get a promotion and even though you could be an amazing employee your boss could give the promotion to  someone else. One example in real life is Chick Fil-A. They are a Christian based community. Their CEO didn't want to hire LGBTQ+ people and only hired non LGBTQ+ people. If the CEO found out he/she could immediately fire them even if they are their best employee.

Our take on workplace discrimination is that it is one of the worst forms of discrimination. Our reasoning for this is work is the reason people make money most of the time. Some businesses are making certain people such as Jewish, Asian, Hispanic and many more groups of people not get fair pay checks and some people don't get jobs at all just because of their race or sex . If you really think hard about the whole thing, those certain companies are making some families not have jobs and lose money, making the family have to spend less money on groceries and other items. Those are the reasons why we think workplace discrimination is one of the worst forms of discrimination.

This matters to us, as kids, because we should know what workplace discrimination is so we can be prepared for this in the workforce and know what to do when it happens. So if this does happen, know that you have rights and you should be able to be yourself in the workplace.
