Pit bulls are a dog breed that are well known as aggressive. Although, not all pit bulls are dangerous. Dogs, humans, and other animals can be killed by pit bulls. They are dangerous dogs and should be banned. Kirstie Bennard, a mother who lives in Tennessee, was hospitalized from trying to save her baby and toddler from her pit bulls. Sadly she failed and her children were mauled to death, according to CBS News. Kelsey Canfield (Kirstie's best friend) told the New York Post that “The dogs, Cheech and Mia, were a part of the family for more than eight years without a violent incident." The two pit bulls were put down. Violent behavior towards children is a reason to ban pit bulls.
Each dog breed was made for a specific job, whether it's a lab retrieving downed birds or a shepherd herding sheep. According to ASPCA, pit bulls were bred to be English bull-baiting dogs. It is a dog that was meant to bite and hold bulls, bears and other large animals. Due to pit bulls being bred as baiting dogs, they are more likely to attack or fight with other dogs. Since pit bulls were bred for violence, they are a menace to people and animals, and they should be banned.

Pit bulls get a bad rap and should not be banned. The problem is with bad owners, not bad pit bulls. Most pit bulls that have been well trained and socialized daily will be intelligent, delightful, and gentle. They could be just as safe as a golden retriever. However, being the owner of a pit bull comes with its responsibilities. If done correctly, the pit bull can be perfectly safe.
Jim Gorant is an editor at Sports Illustrated and author of The Lost Dogs, a book about former NFL player Michael Vick's pit bull dog-fighting operation. The dogs avoided euthanasia because of public appeals and a court order required Vick to pay nearly a million dollars so the dogs could be rehabilitated. According to ASPCA, the rehabilitation worked. Despite terrible cruelty by Vick, they found the dogs responded to socializing and training. While there were still a few fighters, most became loyal, friendly creatures desperate for kindness.
Humans are the reason some pit bulls are violent, not the dogs. This is why they shouldn't be banned.

Pit bulls aren't mean dogs, they're just trained that way to protect people, to be a military dog, and to get into illegal dog fights. (Dog fights are illegal and are banned, but people still do it to get money and that doesn't mean you should do that too).
Pit bulls are very sweet if you train them right. According to Friends To The Forlorn, they are also used for therapy and service dogs, agility champions, search and rescue dogs, and even can be military heroes.
Pit bulls are very good around children and adults. Although pit bulls can be used for bad things, they aren't bad dogs. You NEED to give pit bulls a chance, and you will realize that they are good dogs.
