Wear Love

The holidays are a time of giving. At St. Andrew's, we want to wrap our community in love every day.  We are hoping these few examples will motivate you to wear love. It's your basic, all-purpose garment. Never be without it.

St. Andrew's Spanish teacher Emily Meador delivers items to Sánchez Elementary. Meador has a good friend who teaches at the school and informed us of the need for a clothing drive.

Grade 5 Do Good Club holds a Clothing Drive for Sánchez Elementary.

At Sánchez (formerly Metz Elementary) 86.7% of students are considered economically disadvantaged. Seventy-six percent of the students are English language learners. Despite hardships, the school is a lighthouse for social emotional learning. It also has a dual language program.

The Grade 3 Book Drive was inspired by a humanities unit called "Overcoming learning challenges near and far." In the unit, students studied how people around the world are faced with and overcome obstacles to learning.

Grade 3 collects 1,700 books for BookSpring

"We figured out that many kids in central Texas face obstacles accessing books. So the book drive and BookSpring were a good solution and tangible way to use our privilege."
