Chief Financial Officer Monica Herren presented in detail the proposed budget and tax rate for the 2023-2024 school year.
The presented budget is a balanced budget- anticipated revenue matched anticipated expenditures: $43,900,101
The proposed tax rate is $1.1474
$0.7492 for M&O
$0.3982 for I&S
This is an overall decrease of $0.263 cents from last year's rate.
The board passed the proposed budget and tax rate with a unanimous 7-0 vote.
The board adopted a resolution (7-0) for compliance with HB3, stating good cause exemption for not having armed officers at every school campus. The resolution also stated that the district would begin efforts to hire additional officers so that a police officer can be stationed full time at each campus.
The board heard a presentation from Pogue Construction for the price of construction of the new high school after receiving project bids from subcontractors. After evaluating over 300 bids, Pogue presented a guaranteed maximum price of $101,053,954.
The board voted unanimously 7-0 to accept this GMP.
