Panic button installation is completed at all campuses except CCI
Green Watt lighting has completed almost all of the installation and programming of the door security notification system
Defensify window film has been installed at all campuses. Because the project was completed under budget and there are funds remaining from the grant that paid for this update, film will be added at Tenderfoot and the Administration offices.
Entry and visitor procedure signs for each exterior door have been ordered to ensure consistency across the district
Israel Demello has been hired to the Sanger ISD Police Department, and will be sworn in at a subsequent board meeting. An offer of employment has been made to a second officer.
We are making a rejuvenated effort to bullying prevention within our district. We've added a section to our website detailing our processes and procedures surrounding bullying, and will have a new campaign to encourage reporting using the STOP!T app.
Assistant Superintendent Jennie Flaa presented preliminary STAAR Scores data for End of Course Exams in Algebra 1, English 1 and 2, Biology,and US History. As a whole, scores were good. Students who tested at the approaches grade level remained stable or increased in all areas. Some subjects experienced a slight decline in meets and/or masters. When compared to the state, Sanger ISD students tested above the state level in all areas except meets/master for Algebra and History. Mrs. Flaa attributes the decline in meets/masters scoring students to multiple factors, including the new test format that students experienced for the first time last year.
Project Manager Mr. Teems provided his monthly update to the board on the progress of construction for the bond projects.

Ag Science Center
The team had a pre-construction meeting last week and permits are coming soon. Right now they are ahead of schedule!
CCI
renovations are almost complete and will be finished in time for the start of school
Firelane grading is underway. Once the firelane is complete, the team can begin vertical construction!
Excavation for the new addition that will house the kitchen is complete
HVAC, security cameras, and fire suppression systems have all been completely installed
Cleaning and polishing of the internal renovations is happening soon
The board voted 6-0 to approve the charge policy and new meal prices for students (elementary $3.15, secondary $3.35) for the 2023-2024 school year.
The board voted 6-0 to approve the installation of turf fields at the Sanger High School softball and baseball fields.
This will be paid for out of the district's current fund balance.
In keeping with normal board meeting affairs, the board heard financial reports from CFO Monica Herren and a teaching and learning update from Assistant Superintendent Jennie Flaa.
There were no speakers in open forum.
