Teacher Appreciation Week May 6-10: Help us celebrate Teacher Appreciation Week at MBHS!!!

Monday (B) and Tuesday (A)- Bring your favorite teachers a letter of appreciation

Wednesday (B) and Thursday (A)- Bring your favorites teacher(s) a small token or gift to show them how much they have impacted your life

Friday- Dress as your favorite teacher. Take a pic, post it and tag @mb_bucs so we can share how much Bucs love our teachers

ACES location change during AP Testing!  


May 8th - 16th ACES will be held in the Cafeteria.  

ACES TUTORING -

Finish your academic year strong by going to ACES tutoring every Monday through Friday before school from 7:30 - 8:30 and every Monday through Thursday after school from 3:30 - 5:00. There are Mission Bay teachers in all subject areas as well as our STYLE Peer Tutors ready to help. If you're looking for specialized assistance in Math and Science, we have university tutors from UCSD who can help with all levels of Science and Math including Calculus every Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday morning. 

JROTC has two big events coming up.

 

 

And also, on Tuesday 30 April, the JROTC Color Guard performed at the SDUSD Board Meeting for the Superintendent, Dr. Lamont Jackson. The team was comprised of Cadets’ Phoenix DiProfio, Andrew Saldana, Jonas Mendez and Estevan Munoz-Leyva. 


MBHS Model United Nations club participated in the first UCSD Triton Model United Nations two-day conference this past weekend. Our delegation won a verbal commendation in the U.N. 1990 World Summit for Children committee and an Outstanding Delegate award in the Chinese Warlord Era Crisis committee. All of our delegates did very well, and we look forward to attending the Point Loma Crisis Conference on May 11th. Come to Room 231 during lunch on Tuesday if you would like to get information on this upcoming conference.


Library reminder: Please remember that checking out a charger automatically incurs a $15 fine if not returned. Also, please be sure to turn in previous years textbooks now, and also see Ms. Autumn for any fines. Thank you!

Cheer Tryouts

Back Parking Lot - 


Students are not allowed in the back parking lot at anytime during the school day including lunch. 


For students leaving for Assigned Time Home or Athletics - you must depart right away. There is no hanging out in your car. 


Your car is not a locker. Anything you need for the day (including sports equipment) should be carried in with you when you arrive to school. You are not to collect items from your car at lunch or passing period.


Saturday School Saturday School is being held on May 11th. Review your attendance on Powerschool, clear up any unexcused absences and/or plan to attend. For registration and instructions, see the school website

MUSIC Announcements

The Senior Honors concert will be Wednesday May 8th at 7PM in the MBHS Auditorium.  Free admission.  This concert will feature our talented senior musicians completing the honors music pathway.

Spring Concert - May 22nd!

The final concert of our Music Business Work-Study Program Series at Meraki Event Space and Lounge will be May 30th featuring the MB musicians and LEONARD PATTON & PETER SPRAGUE.   Concert/Dinner packages are available at www.merakiconcerts.com.  All proceeds go to support the MB Music Program! Please join us for this fun night!

Senior Announcements

Clear up your Attendance! 

Per the Senior contract, you must maintain your attendance to participate in Senior activities which include GradNite, prom, senior brunch, and walking at graduation.  There are 2 more Saturday schools before activities begin (May 11th and May 18th).  Please make sure you are clearing up attendance and tardies so that you may participate in senior activities.

Tell Your Parents

Our last Principal's Coffee of the year will be held on Friday, May 24th at 9am in the library.  Please join us!


Attention parents: Due to major loss of equipment, chargers will now be checked out to the students. If they are not returned, they will incur a $15 replacement fee. (This does not include the charger that your student received initially with the chromebook)

New Parent Informational Meeting hosted in the auditorium on Mon, 8/5 at 9am.  

 

*New Students must be enrolled at MBHS in order to attend. If you need to enroll, please attend our enrollment hours on Thurs, Aug 1st from 9am – 12Noon.



ATHLETIC PHYSICALS 2024-2025


Tip for Parents!!! Schedule your child's Physical after Friday, June 7, 2024. 


High School Athletes are required to have Athletic Clearance prior to participating.  The 2024-25 athletic physical packets will be posted to athleticclearance.com on Friday, June 7, 2024. For the 2024-25 school year, all physicals will need to be completed after that date (Friday, June 7, 2024) to be covered for the entirety of the 2024-25 school year.  More information is on the Athletics website https://mbbuccaneers.com/  or you may contact our Athletic Director or team coaches directly for assistance.
