Lost and Damaged Books or Materials

When a student loses or damages materials, such as books or calculators, there are FOUR ways to make up for the loss:

1.  Pay for the item at the Finance Office (cash and check only).

2.  Replace the EXACT item by purchasing it online using the specific ISBN number. Please note that replacements are not eligible for refunds if the original item is later found.

3.  Set up a reasonable monthly payment plan.

4.  Complete service hours at the school library in place of payment.  Service is credited at a rate of $17.75 per hour and is not eligible for refunds once completed. All service must be arranged in advance with Ms. Gates. Students may not complete service hours during class time. The exception is for students who have assigned time home or Mesa. Service hours must be completed before school (7:30-8:40 am), during lunch, or after school (3:30-4:00 pm). 

If a book is owed to another SDUSD school, it can be returned to the Mission Bay Library to be cleared. If a fine is owed to another school, please have the student contact that school directly and pay the fine at the location where it originated. 

Seniors must return all items (including Chromebook and charger) by Friday, May 22.                    
Underclassmen - all textbooks, calculators, and library books are due on or before the last day of school.
