General Announcements
Leaving Early? Attendance Reminders -
If your parent needs you to leave early, bring a note to attendance BEFORE school starts and get your blue slip early so there is no delay.
If your parent needs to call, please remind them to call ATLEAST 1 HOUR before you need to leave to avoid a delay. They can also email missionbayattendance@sandi.net but note that there may be a delay.
Failure to get a Blue Slip before leaving campus will result in a truancy. Parents/guardians may not call to clear a truancy after you have left campus.
IB Testing and AP Testing continue this week. Please see the calendar for testing schedule.
Tips to help you manage academic stress:
Spend quality time with people you enjoy
Make things: cook food, create art or crafts, write or play music
Listen to music or dance with friends or on your own
Help others (helping people in need and giving back to the community is proven to reduce stress)
Spend time outside: walking, cycling, swimming or even just sitting quietly
Be playful: do things that bring you joy or make you laugh

ACES location change during AP Testing!
May 8th - 16th ACES will be held in the Cafeteria.
ACES TUTORING -
Finish your academic year strong by going to ACES tutoring every Monday through Friday before school from 7:30 - 8:30 and every Monday through Thursday after school from 3:30 - 5:00. There are Mission Bay teachers in all subject areas as well as our STYLE Peer Tutors ready to help. If you're looking for specialized assistance in Math and Science, we have university tutors from UCSD who can help with all levels of Science and Math including Calculus every Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday morning.
EcoClub meeting in 255 Wednesday at lunch. Do you want to be an officer next year? Come prepared to introduce yourself and tell us why!
JROTC has two big events coming up.
An end-of-year awards ceremony as we wrap up our first year as a Coast Guard MBHS JROTC and install our new Commanding Officer, Madison Walker replacing Senior Lole Ulutu and Executive Officer Phoenix DiProfio replacing Senior Summer Ramsey. Tuesday 14 May, 4-6 pm at the JROTC Room 163.
Saturday 18 May an all-SDUSD JROTC ceremony, where MBHS JROTC will be one of 14 JROTC high schools all participating in annual end-of-year awards and “Pass and Review” formal ceremony, held at Kearney Mesa High School.
And also, on Tuesday 30 April, the JROTC Color Guard performed at the SDUSD Board Meeting for the Superintendent, Dr. Lamont Jackson. The team was comprised of Cadets’ Phoenix DiProfio, Andrew Saldana, Jonas Mendez and Estevan Munoz-Leyva.
Textbook return week is May 28-31!

UCSD-sponsored United Voices Conference aims to provide invaluable resources, support, and guidance to navigate the educational journey for undocumented students. Saturday School Saturday School is being held on May 18th. Review your attendance on Powerschool, clear up any unexcused absences and/or plan to attend. For registration and instructions, see the school website

Jazz on the Green – Wed. May 15th
This outdoor event is an annual tradition at Mission Bay. Featuring all of our Jazz Ensembles, it's guaranteed to be a vivid and exciting evening!
Bring your own seating – Jazz on the Green happens on the MBHS outdoor quad. Bring your own seating, blankets, and warm clothing!
Come hungry! – We will have delicious pizzas and refreshments available at the concert. Bring some cash, come hungry, and grab your pizzas at the event!
Spring Concert – Wed. May 22nd
The Classical ensembles at Mission Bay Music perform a wide repertoire of music. Four amazing ensembles in one evening including the award-winning Symphony Orchestra!

What is the Meraki Concert Series
Produced by the students as part of the MBHS Music Business Program, the Meraki Concert Series in partnership with Meraki Event Space and Lounge and the San Diego Yokohama Sister City Society, is an exhilarating music series that promises spectacular performances by established and emerging jazz artists.
All proceeds benefit the Mission Bay Music Program.
Senior Announcements
Clear up your Attendance!
Per the Senior contract, you must maintain your attendance to participate in Senior activities which include GradNite, prom, senior brunch, and walking at graduation. There is 1 more Saturday school before activities begin (May18th). Please make sure you are clearing up attendance and tardies so that you may participate in senior activities.

Tell Your Parents
Our last Principal's Coffee of the year will be held on Friday, May 24th at 9am in the library. Please join us!
Attention parents: Due to major loss of equipment, chargers will now be checked out to the students. If they are not returned, they will incur a $15 replacement fee. (This does not include the charger that your student received initially with the chromebook)
Annual Funding Form for 2024-2025
Local Control Funding Formula (LCFF) - Each year, we ask you to complete the LCFF form for each student in your household. This quick 2 question survey has a critical impact on support and services offered here on campus and in our district. The completion of this form helps determine the State and Federal funding that schools receive.
To complete the form, see the email from rrode@sandi.net or log in to your Powerschool Parent Portal with a web browser and click on the LCFF Data Collection button. Note that it is not accessible via the forms menu in the mobile app at this time. Please complete the form for each SDUSD student in your household for next year.

*New Students must be enrolled at MBHS in order to attend. If you need to enroll, please attend our enrollment hours on Thurs, Aug 1st from 9am – 12Noon.
ATHLETIC PHYSICALS 2024-2025
Tip for Parents!!! Schedule your child's Physical after Friday, June 7, 2024.
High School Athletes are required to have Athletic Clearance prior to participating. The 2024-25 athletic physical packets will be posted to athleticclearance.com on Friday, June 7, 2024. For the 2024-25 school year, all physicals will need to be completed after that date (Friday, June 7, 2024) to be covered for the entirety of the 2024-25 school year.
