 The improvements of golf

The improvements of golf over the years have been a great benefit to the game. There is a lot of new technology for the courses and also the equipment.

“Golf equipment has changed dramatically over the past several decades.” (Practical-golf.com) The golf balls have improved from rubber to urethane cover stock and thinsetic inside. This makes the ball bounce off the face of the club faster. The driver, 3 wood, and hybrids are made out of carbon fiber instead of wood like they used in 1917.  The irons used to be a piece of metal on a stick. Now they are forged stainless steel on graphite shafts. They used to use plastic poles for yardages on the range, and now they use laser range finders that detect slope and wind. The yardage tracker called Trackman is one of a kind; it is an improved laser range finder. It tracks launch angle ball spin ball speed club speed ect. They didn’t have anything like this in 1917.

They have improved the courses also, not just the clubs. The mower used to be hand pushed and not accurate. The new mowers are bigger than ever; they are rider lawn mowers instead of push mowers. The old ones were not adjustable and now have different modes and can be electric. The greens on the golf courses have improved a lot too. They used to be dead all the time. Now the greens keepers have chemicals like Hydretain to maintain them and keep them alive. The greens used to be uneven, now the grass is perfect; they have robotic mowing machines that cut the grass perfectly. The golf courses are getting more high-tech; they are even using drones to plant new seeds for dead spots. The drones are starting to use thermal vision to find and cure harmful diseases. This is the future of golf.

The improvements of golf over the years has helped to grow the game and help the players do better.
