Introduction

As a freshman, you have the option of taking either Biology or Honors Biology. If you are planning on attending a four-year college you should plan to take Biology, Chemistry, and Physics. This is the minimum preparation needed for college. At Homestead, almost all 9th graders take either Biology I or Honors Biology I.

Physics First is a basic physics course for freshmen only by invitation only. Students will then take Biology I in the sophomore year. Students study motion, forces, energy, and circuits with an emphasis on hands-on, active learning activities.
