Today, I managed to present about the topic that we were given about the History of Astronomy to the S2 cohort of Astronomy. I felt that it did have its ups and downs throughout. The good things about the presentation is that overall, it went quite well and we managed to stay on schedule most of the time and everyone did their part in the presentation. I like how me and my teammates were sounding as confident as they could in the presentation and they tried to keep to the audience engaged as much as possible. However, there are always two sides to a coin. The cons was that despite what we did, it was hard to keep the audience engaged as much as possible as some people were falling asleep during the presentation. Our presentation could be improved by having more interactive activities like quizzes, questions to engage the audience and see whether they are listening or not. The other thing is that some people said that I didn't have as much enthusiasm during the presentation. The thing is, I tried to sound as enthusiastic as possible through voice projections and varying voice tones to keep the audience on the tip of their toes but I guess that wasn't enough. I am glad though, that my other teammate, managed to keep the audience engaged at the last part of the presentation and people were participative. I sometimes wish that I could be like him. However, everybody has different personalities and the best thing I can do is improve on myself. This was a first experience for me presenting so there are bound to be some things that can go wrong but I hope to improve on this in my next presentation.
