Quality Assurance Documentation
GCIT’s curriculum is structured around clearly defined syllabi and module descriptors in accordance with the Royal University of Bhutan’s standards. Each module is supported by a teaching guide to ensure consistent and effective delivery. Faculty members develop 15-week semester work plans outlining weekly teaching and learning objectives. Continuous assessment is integral, using a mix of assignments, projects, presentations, and quizzes to measure student learning throughout the semester, as mandated under RUB’s Assessment and Progression regulations.
Student feedback is systematically collected through end-of-semester evaluations (as per Section D3 of the Wheel of Academic Law) and used to inform module improvement and instructional practices. An annual review process, as outlined in Sections F2 and F5, ensures that the curriculum remains current, relevant, and responsive to student needs, stakeholder inputs, and industry demands. These reviews include module performance analysis, programme board inputs, and updates aligned with technological advancements and academic trends.
The comprehensive approach ensures quality enhancement through alignment with RUB’s academic governance, fostering robust academic standards and graduate readiness for dynamic industry contexts.
The BCS programme provides foundational and advanced skills in full-stack development, AI and data science, and blockchain technologies. Focused on industry-relevant competencies, it includes real-world projects, capstone experiences, and practical training. Graduates gain expertise in software engineering, DevOps, and modern computing frameworks, preparing them for global IT careers. The programme aligns with Bhutan’s vision for digital innovation and economic growth .
The BIDD programme equips students with skills in UI/UX design, front-end programming, and interactive development to support Bhutan’s digital transformation. It emphasizes user-centered design, integrating visual communication, user research, and cutting-edge technologies. The curriculum includes industry-based projects, internships, and capstone projects. Graduates are prepared for careers in UX design, web development, and digital marketing, contributing to the digital economy’s growth.
The Wheel of Academic Law is the Royal University of Bhutan’s definitive guide to academic policies, ensuring uniform governance across member institutions. It covers programme structures, awards, assessment regulations, quality assurance, and academic integrity. The document establishes credit frameworks, module descriptors, and admission criteria, aligning academic practices with global standards. It emphasizes student progression, ethical learning, and research guidelines. Regular updates maintain relevance to evolving educational needs. This serves as a cornerstone for policy enforcement, quality education, and institutional excellence at RUB.
