Details and Abstract Compositions

Details/Abstract Compositions

For this roll of film, I want you to focus your vision and your cameras on details of everyday objects and small parts of the big picture.

  • Try to see everyday things in a new way.

  • Try leaving out some information, enough so that the subject looks new and the object obscure or even abstract.

  • Remember if there is an element of mystery people will take the time to figure it out; everyone loves a puzzle.

  • Think about the art principle of repetition or rhythm when considering these and don't forget the compositional hints from the 1st quarter.

Remember to try to think/see in black and white. Look for values and tonal differences.
