THEME WEEK

THEME WEEK 2020

PROBLEM SOLVED!

The students in the lower school went through the design thinking process to solve problems they encounter at Roycemore. Throughout the week, students worked across grade levels and in their own classrooms. Some students chose to work independently and some chose to work with a group. All of the students created and designed several prototypes in order to come up with their final design. The classroom was constantly buzzing with activity this week!

March 3- 6, 2020

This week students completed two of the projects they have been working on! We finished the Mold Terrarium Observations and students worked in groups to create a display of their data, observations, and conclusions. Keep an eye out, because we will display these in the hallway very soon!

Our pen pal letters have been completed and editing conferences helped students to find their errors. They completed their published versions on google docs.

Last, but not least, our ecosystem projects have also been completed. Students finished their scenes and wrapped up their research by writing an explanation of the parts of their specific ecosystem. I was so impressed by the amount of work each of the students put into their projects. Everyone came into class each day, checked the list of what to accomplish, and independently or in groups, set about completing their tasks with a positive attitude.

In math this week, students spent their time reviewing all of the skills we have learned so far this year! Students worked independently and in groups to practice their math skills.
