“There is a calmness to a life lived in gratitude, a quiet joy.” — Ralph H. Blum
In this activity, you will create a special jar for saving gratitude statements at the end of each day. Using blank slips of paper, or the prompts provided in the handout, you will write down three good things about your day. (note: if you don't have a jar, you can use any container and decorate it how you choose!) Follow this pattern for the week :)
Taking control of your daily schedule can help establish a form of normalcy during a time when your world has been flipped upside down.
Try these tips to help manage your time and continue moving towards achieving both your short-term and long-term goals.
Start a daily to-do-list
Know your limits (don't overextend yourself)
Don't procrastinate!
Align your priorities (what is the most important thing to get done right now)
Incorporate self-care into your daily schedule (time for hobbies and activities you enjoy)
"Trust me, setting things up right from the beginning will avoid a ton of tears and heartache…" — Kobe Bryant
Learning to set goals is an effective way to have continual progress and realizing your dreams.
Take some time today to figure out what you want to achieve, both short-term and long-term. You may want to start exercising daily or improve your grades. You may want to better your relationship with your family. Whatever you goal may be, learn how to give yourself the best chance at accomplishing it!
YOU GOT THIS!
Host a Favorite Movie Night
Everyone has a favorite movie, and this is a great time to join together as a family and share together some favorite films. Perhaps each evening one member of the family can choose a favorite film in rotation. Much can be known about a person based upon their favorite films, so intentionally ask why a certain film strikes a heart chord. What sparks a feeling of admiration? Get to know your family even better by seeing what films make their eyes bright with wonder.
