What is Dual Enrollment & A-G Requirments?

Riverside Prep Counseling Department is dedicated to providing options for students to begin their college and career journey. Students can begin preparing for high school A-G requirements while in middle school. They can take dual enrollment courses with Victor Valley College, and Brandman University for free while still in high school, and they have access to college and career exploration with Naviance curriculum. It is our goal to ensure that students leave high school with a post-secondary plan that sets them up for success!

What are a-G Requirements

A-G requirements are courses that students must take and pass with a "C" or better in order to be eligible to apply to a Cal State or UC.

Students should be aware of what classes they are taking as well as strive to pass the course with a "C" or better to stay on track for eligibility to these schools.

DUAL ENROLLMENT Q&A

Q: What is Dual Enrollment?

A: Dual Enrollment offers high school students the opportunity to enroll in college courses and receive college credit while still pursuing their high school diploma. Riverside Prep offers Victor Valley College courses in a variety of disciplines and fields including general education and career pathway courses. Students can take these courses at our high school or at the VVC campus. We also offer courses through Brandman University that students can take on our high school campus.

Q: How does it benefit students?

A: Students are able to earn college credit while receiving high school credit at the same time. Students have the benefit of being able to take a college course on our campus and do not have to pay any fees for books or tuition. Students also benefit from being exposed early to the rigors of college course work, while also completing college units ahead of time.

Q: Is it available to all students?

A: Classes are offered to juniors and seniors.
