Dear Riverside Prep Class of 2021,

We know this is a most unique time for you. With so many unique changes happening this school year the Riverside Prep Counseling Department is dedicated to helping you prepare for the rest of the school year and your post high school plans.

If you need help with your college and career plans, the Riverside Prep High School Counselors are here to help!

It's time to start thinking about the Free application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or California Dream Act Application (CDAA). The window to apply opens on October 1st and closes on March 2nd (to receive maximum financial aid). We will be providing more information so that all students are informed about the FAFSA process and have everything they need to apply. Who applies for FAFSA?

General eligibility requirements include that you have financial need, are a U.S. citizen or eligible noncitizen, and are enrolled in an eligible degree or certificate program at your college or career school. Learn more here!

CDAA

Who applies for CDAA?

The California Dream Act allows undocumented and nonresident students (U.S. Citizens and eligible non-citizens) who qualify for a non-resident exemption under Assembly Bill 540 (AB 540) to receive certain types of financial aid such as: private scholarships funded through public universities, state administered financial aid, university grants, community college fee waivers, and Cal Grants. In addition, the California Dream Act, allows eligible students to pay in-state tuition at any public college in California. Learn more here!
