Critical Thinking

According to Google Trends, "chatgpt" is the #1 Google search query in the United States in the past 12 months, followed by #2 "chat gpt." "temu" is #3, and "damar hamlin" is #4. Compared to Google search trends in Bolivia, "chatgpt" and "chat gpt" are still the top 2 queries, but soccer topics take the place of "temu" and "damar hamlin." Ask students to make comparisons and inferences from global Google Trends. Students can use the explore tool to enter and compare the popularity of search terms in specific locations, during specified periods of time. Below you'll find a popularity comparison between Taylor Swift searches and the government shutdown searches from the period September 18, 2023 and September 24, 2023.  Can you guess what caused the spike in Taylor Swift searches on Sunday, September 24th?
