About This Image 🖼️
Teach students to research images before sharing them as factual using the "About this image" tool found in Google image results. After clicking on the three-dot menu and selecting "About this image" users will be taken to a page that provides extra information about:
When the image and similar images were first indexed by Google
Where it may have first appeared
Where else it’s been seen online (like on news, social, or fact checking sites)
Creativity
FigJam Washi Tape
FigJam's washi tape tool is great for making connections between concepts on a whiteboard. The video to the left shows you how students can customize their washi tape to visually represent what exactly connects two ides. When the washi tape tool is selected, click on the ➕ sign to upload an image.
FigJam Tip #1: Copy and paste images, YouTube videos, Google docs directly onto a FigJam so that students don't have to open a new tab.
FigJam Tip #2: Create copies of a FigJam for students to work on independently by selecting everything in the URL up until/ and including the question mark ❓ Replace with a forward slash and the word duplicate "/duplicate" Copy the new URL and share with students.
Collaboration
Padlet Submission Request
Padlet will now allow you to share submission request links for collaborative Padlets. Why would you want to do that? So that if you've created Exit Ticket Padlet, students won't be able to see what other students "answered" until they themselves make a post. The diagrams to the right will guide you through the process that all begins once you click on the share arrow. ↗️

Seesaw Digital Portfolios (K-5)
Rialto K-5 teachers have access to a premium Seesaw account until the end of the 2023-2024 school year. Not only does Seesaw have an extensive library of ready-to-use / standards aligned lessons and activities for elementary students, its platform provides an easy way for students to commmunicate their learning using digital portfolios.
