Hand in hand, Juliet and Theo glide almost effortlessly down the ice, dodging other skaters in their path. For all they were concerned, the two of them were the only people in all of New York City. The December air had a nip in it however they hardly seemed to notice. Their skates could fuse into the ground, making them unable to move, forced to stay together for eternity, and they wouldn't be bothered in the slightest. Theo’s expression beamed as he glanced over at Juliet, he was able to admire the luminescent radiance that she so effortlessly gave off. As the countdown started, swarms of people began an unannounced race to get off of the ice. Laughter wrapped around the both of them like a fuzzy blanket on Christmas morning, as they watched numerous tumbles and screams as if it were the battle of a lifetime to clear the ice in a minimal amount of time.
“Hey, do you wanna stay on the ice? I think for the first time all day we will have it mostly to ourselves.” Theo asks with an ear to ear grin across his face.
“I think that's a great idea.” Juliet replies, gazing up into his chocolatey brown eyes.
Getting a perfect view of the tree being lit was a priority for most people that day, but Juliet and Theo knew that they had a lifetime ahead of them to see this event, so instead of leaving the young couple relished in the moment they were already sharing. Just as she was about to glide away, expecting Theo to follow her lead, she felt a gentle grasp on her fingertips pulling her in the opposite direction of the one she was planning on going. Her skates turn allowing her body to follow, coming face to face with Theo. She gives him a look of uncertainty as his face displays an expression that raises suspicion. Before she is able to comprehend what is happening, Theo is already on one knee on the chipped ice below them with one hand clasping hers, and in the other holding out a diamond.
