“Please, please, please, Sabrina, can we please watch The Grinch”?!
“Well you guys should know that we need to wait for dinner first. We could probably watch it before bed.” As Sabrina says this she hears the popping noise of popcorn. She then smells the butter and gives in.
“Guy's mom is making dinner and this is very disrespectful of you guys to do.” They explain that they are sorry. I teased them telling them I wished that I could watch The Grinch right now to lighten the mood. Their mom yells and tells them that dinner is ready. The dinner table is set up beautifully with little to no flaws with each fork place and shined perfectly you would have thought this would have taken them ages to prepare. From the lace fringe lining the table and perfectly clean place mats. But the center of it all would be the huge turkey. Their family always has the best turkey with days they take to ferment and marinate it. Cooked in the slow cooker that my dad had bought my mom years ago so she could re-create the recipe that had been passed on for generations and more to come. Any guest that comes through these doors is granted the opportunity to try the family's famous turkey around the Christmas holiday. Bother to ask for the recipe? Don't even try, you will be denied instantly. They couldn't resist having the recipe being leaked.
“Mom, could you pass me the mashed potatoes please.”
“Yes of course.” This family takes Christmas very seriously with wearing all white every kid is very nervous trying not to get their clothing dirty. You could feel the happiness through the air, everyone talking and enjoying the food.
“Let's all go around and say what we are grateful for.” Their dad tells everyone.
“Isn't that a thing we do at thanksgiving?” Sabrina asks.
“Yes but why can't we say it here right now?”
“Sabrina you go first.”
“Well I'm grateful for moms chocolate cake.”
“Speaking of chocolate cake, I'm done with my dinner. Let's eat.” She looks over to her right at the huge chocolate cake and imagines herself eating it. Yummmm she thought to herself. Everyone is praising the turkey but we should really be focusing on this chocolate cake. Her brother then runs, grabbing the cake as fast as possible. "Be careful!" she yells. Everyone stands up hearing a loud bang. "Oh no! The chocolate cake!" Sabrina yelled.
“Sabrina you are getting coal in your stocking no way you are worried over a chocolate cake more than your siblings safety!”
