About Us!

Esperanza Journalism is Esperanza High School's student voice. Our team of writers, photographers, designers, videographers, and content creators works together to tell the stories that matter to the Aztec community.

Students gain real-world journalism experience by reporting on campus news, student life, sports, entertainment, and important issues affecting our school. They share their work through our quarterly Aztlán, Esperanza’s student-produced magazine, as well as videos, podcasts, social media, and our Aztlán website.

Every story begins with our students. From conducting interviews and taking photographs to designing pages, recording podcasts, and producing videos, our staff leads the entire creative process. Our goal is to inform, entertain, celebrate our community, and make sure the many voices of Esperanza are heard.

We are proud to preserve the moments, people, and stories that make Esperanza special, because journalism is more than reporting what happens. It is telling the story of who we are.
