Dance Electives

The Varsity Competition Dance Team is a highly skilled, competitive group of dancers that represent Esperanza HS. Members of the team train intensively and participate in regional, state, and national level competition's. This team performs/competes in various styles and are judged on factors like choreography, technique, and precision, Team members attend regular morning rehearsals and also perform at school events. Auditions are held in April. 

This next level focuses on creating a supportive team environment where dancers can develop their skills, build confidence, and explore their passion for dance. The company will perform both within the school community and beyond, showcasing their hard work and artistic vision. The focus is on performance not competition. Previous dance experience is required. 

No dance experience? No problem! This is the place to learn. You can earn PE credits while learning something new. Class includes intro to rhythm and movement, basic ballet and hip hop fundamentals, jazz dance basics, musical theater including performance skills, stretch and flexibility, and intro to choreography.
