About Us!
The Ceramics program at our school is a premier artistic pathway designed to transform students from curious beginners into master craftsmen. Students begin their journey in Beginning Ceramics, where they are introduced to the fundamental foundations of the ceramic process, including hand-building, the potter's wheel, and complex glazing techniques that encourage bold self-expression.
As artists progress into Advanced Ceramics, the focus shifts toward mastery of construction and professional-grade firing techniques. This advanced tier challenges students to function as working artists, culminating in opportunities to showcase their refined portfolios in our school Art Gallery and engage with the community by selling their original work at local markets. By completing this sequence, students earn more than just elective credit; they develop a professional artistic identity and a portfolio of work that sets them apart in college applications and future creative endeavors.
