EHS Performance of Little Women
This elective course satisfies the F requirement for admission to a 4-year university and is designed to develop a deep appreciation for the theater arts. Beginning theater provides students with a comprehensive exploration of body, voice, and characterization through both group and individual activities. The curriculum includes ensemble games, pantomime, movement, and sensory awareness, alongside technical instruction in diction, dramatic structure, and theater history. Students will engage in character creation, improvisation, scene preparation, and script analysis, while sharpening their critical thinking through oral and written theatrical critiques.
Emphasis is placed on developing a familiarity with the performance experience. Upon completion of the course, students will be able to:
Develop an understanding of basic theatre techniques
Identify basic theatrical terminology
Perform short scenes and improvisations in various theatrical styles
Discover and cultivate individual talents
Gain self-discipline and learn self-evaluation
