Design, Visual & Media Arts Pathway

About Us!

The Design Visual and Media Arts Career Pathway consists of beginning, imtermediate, and advanced courses that give students the opportunity for project based learing experiences to become graphic designers. Students are trained on Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign. Collaboration with other departments, classes, clubs, schools, and outside organizations provides unique opportunities to advertise and promote events. Throughout each course, Digital Design students create a professional portfolio and develop problem solving critical thinking and effective communication skills. Upon succcessful completion, they are also eligible to take the Adobe Certified Professionals Exams.

The Adobe Certified Professionals Exam offers students the opportunity to validate their expertise in industry-leading Adobe software. This certification is available for Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe InDesign, with each application requiring a separate exam for professional recognition.

The exam is fully provided and funded by North Orange County ROP (NOCROP), giving students access to a valuable credential at no cost. Students who successfully pass the exam earn an official, industry-recognized certificate that can be added to resumes and portfolios, strengthening their competitiveness for future educational and career opportunities.

This globally recognized certification remains valid for three years and may be retaken at any time to maintain or expand professional credentials.

As students advance in our class, you will be given the opportunity to demonstrate skills you have acquired during the pathway. Students are given access to work based equipment such as:

Heat Press

Create and print your own clothing designs with our shirt press.

Laminator

Use the laminator to protect important paper projects.

Huion Tablets

Draw, color, and manipulate easily on the Huion Tablets.

Button Maker

Create buttons for clubs with our 5 different sizes of button makers.

Roland Printer

Design and print stickers, banners, posters, and vinyls with our advanced 20" Roland Printer.
