Dr. Jennifer Maag is the current Putnam County Coroner. The Coroner is an elected countywide official serving for a four-year term. The Coroner's office is a law enforcement agency, which, as part of the system of checks and balances, investigates the cause and manner of deaths that occur in the county.

The County Recorder's function is to maintain permanent public records involving a wide variety of instruments. These documents detail transactions involving real estate, mining, personal property, mortgages, liens, leases, subdivision plats, military discharges, personal bonds, etc.

Military Discharge Records: The Putnam County Recorder's Office encourages Veterans to have their military discharge papers (DD214) recorded in the County Recorder's Office. This form is one of the most important documents that the Service will give you. It is your key to participation in all Department of Veteran Affairs (VA) programs as well as several state and federal programs.
Century Farms: A farm must have been owned by a family for at least 100 years to qualify for this program. The Ohio Department of Agriculture recognizes the many social, economic and historic contributions made by Ohio's founding families. The Ohio Century Farm program was developed as a way to honor these families for their enduring legacy to our state. Qualified registrants receive an heirloom certificate signed by the Governor of Ohio and the Director of the Ohio Department of Agriculture. A "Century Farm" yard sign is available for purchase by all qualified registrants.

Investments: The County Treasurer invests un-disbursed funds for various periods of time, which earns money for the county general operating fund.
Board and Commissions: By law, the Treasurer serves on numerous Boards including: Investment Board, Board of Revisions, Budge Commission, and Fiscal Report Review Committee.
