MHP Salud 2142 B Washtenaw Ave., Ypsilanti, MI 48197 956-968-3600 mhpsalud.org

Mission: MHP Salud promotes the Community Health Worker profession nationally as a culturally appropriate strategy to improve health and implements CHW programs to empower underserved Latino communities.

Programs offered:

Community Health Workers: A Community Health Worker is a trusted member of the community who empowers their peers through education and connections to health and social resources.

Organization Overview: Founded in 1983, we are a non-profit that works to change the circumstances that have resulted in poor health for underserved Latinos and their communities and to improve health and human rights for generations to come. We do this by training and supporting Community Health Workers called Promotores and Promotoras who educate and advocate for change. Promotores(as) integrate information about health and the health care system into the community's culture, language and value system, thus reducing many of the barriers to health services.
