This court handles Juvenile criminal cases, Children Services cases, Guardianships, Emergency Child Placement, Juvenile Protection Orders, Wills, Marriage Licenses, Death Certificates, and Birth records. This court utilizes the services of Guardian Ad Litems (GAL) and Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA).

Prosecutor Gary Lammers

The Prosecutor's office handles all felony prosecutions along with all misdemeanor, criminal, and traffic offenses in violation of the Ohio Revised Code. The Prosecutor's office also participates in the presentation of cases of delinquency, unruly, juvenile traffic offenses, and abuse, neglect, and dependency offenses involving juveniles in the Putnam County Juvenile Court.

Sheriff Brian Siefker

The Sheriff's Office provides law enforcement/road patrol, community policing, security checks, information and referral services, dispatch for fire, EMS and law enforcement services, Special Response Team, and Prevention and Training. They also provide assistance to the Multi Area Narcotic Unit, provide Electronic Monitoring Programs for the court and their office houses the medication drop off site in their lobby.

The Putnam County Jail is a full service Corrections Facility. They provide a full service jail including inmate transportation, and inmate visitation which are typically held on Wednesday and Sundays. Contact the Putnam County Jail (419-523-3407) for specific times.

The Putnam County Adult Parole Authority Office is a state agency that provides supervision/referral services and investigation services for the Putnam County Common Pleas Court. Supervision services are also provided for the State Patrol and Post Release control offenders as well as out-of-state offenders.

The Adult Probation Department provides probation supervision for misdemeanant cases assigned by Putnam County Municipal Court. Also, Probation supervision is provided for those misdemeanant offenders who have been convicted of Contributing to the Delinquency/Unruliness of a Minor and assigned by Putnam County Juvenile/Probate Court.

The overall focus of the Putnam County Probation Department is to hold probationers accountable for their actions and to assist probations in connecting with community-based services such as: education, employment, drug and alcohol counseling, domestic violence counseling, mental health counseling, community service and vocational rehabilitation. The desired outcome of this linkage is to have these individuals become more productive and successful members of society.

The Juvenile Probation Department strives to hold juvenile offenders accountable for delinquent and unruly behaviors, while providing referrals to resources that reduce criminal behavior, and increase the ability of youth to live productively and responsibly in the community. Diversions are also completed at the Probation Department, which is a process of managing juvenile cases through a non-court process and are only used for those first time/low-risk juvenile offenders. The referral sources are generally law enforcement agencies, schools or other service providers within the community.

The purpose of the clinic is instructional and educational and is not intended as an agreement to retain legal services. The relationship between the parties is that of student and teacher and is not that of attorney and client.

The A-OK Program presents information concerning topics mandated by most states and local courts, with regard to divorce and participation in parental education programs.

In Ohio, when getting divorced or separated, it is required that you complete a 4 hour parenting course. This course meets that requirement.
