School of Nursing Technology & Software
Some tuition/fees contribute to required program technology. For detailed information on what this includes (such as Shadow Health software or Oculus VR hardware), specific technical requirements, and vital support details, please review the School of Nursing Technology Requirements.
Additional Required Course Material:
Toward the end of your program, you will be required to purchase the Amplify Starter Program from Fitzgerald Health Education Associates (approximately $600). This is a required course material. You can purchase it through the Online Bookstore once you are registered for the course in which it is required.
For our MSN and Post-graduate Certificate programs, there are two clinical handbooks available for students depending on the type of program they are enrolled in: Nurse Practitioner programs and Non-Nurse Practitioner programs (i.e. Nurse Educator and Executive Leader). These handbooks are an important resource for our graduate students to utilize throughout their program at Purdue University Global. In addition to the University policies established in the Student Code of Conduct and University Catalog, this handbook establishes the expectations and policies that MSN and Post-graduate Certificate students are expected to adhere to while completing their clinical courses. It is important for all graduate students to review their appropriate handbook to become familiar with the policies and expectations for them, and to use that handbook as a resource as questions arise in their program.
Key Components of the handbook are as follows:
Clinical course requirements and guidance on the clinical placement process
Recommendations on how to find clinical sites and preceptors in alignment with the course competencies
Expectations of the student, preceptor, and clinical student support team in navigating clinical process
Professional behaviors and conduct students are expected to exhibit in all educational settings, including expectations for attire and behavior in clinical settings
As noted in the Graduate Student Handbooks, all students and faculty are expected to follow all the policies, procedures, and behaviors aligned with professional and academic excellence in all academic settings to support their safety, wellbeing, and success. Academic settings does not just mean within the virtual classroom, but also including, but not limited to, clinical settings, student meetings, virtual simulations, and any and all communications within the educational context. The goals of our graduate programs are to advance student learning and practice to enter elevated roles in health care settings after graduation, so maintaining professional conduct and developing those skills while in your program are essential.
