The weather-not too hot, not too cold

The beach and how it's changed and looks

First Aid on hand all day

Parents and family turn out

Went really well, enjoyable for all.

Everybody doing the right thing.

Fruit, water available for all.

All the parents who said they were coming, came.

Great for kids to manage themselves and socialise independently - most did this really well.

Had enough parents

Enough hats.

Chn wore hats playing games as well.

Huge variety of things to do for kids.

Whole day is good for picnic as parents do take a whole day off work to help us.

Helpers-those who said they would help, didn't turn up

Some students being dismissed early and others weren't on the day

Adjust the picnic times so that students are dismissed straight after the picnic (start after morning tea)

Older children dismissed too early for the younger ones to be released. Before the patrols were out.

Pack up too early.

Balls on beach

Pre-schoolers swimming and teachers watching them.

More structure and planned events on the day competitions eg. sandcastle building, treasure hunt

Smaller bay for swimming only, big bay for only paddling - or other way around. Might make it clearer who is swimming and who isn't.

Uniform on unless swimming time? Yes - that's meant to be the case : )

Up to knees worked surprisingly well.

The picnic together ideas for older kids didn't really work.

Good to come back to school at the time we do as it allows us time to sort out any lost/hurt children etc.
